My wife picked out a small rattle/teether for my little niece. The rattle, as it should, rattles and makes a metallic jingle when shaken. What however surprised me was that the rattling came out of speakers embedded in the 'device'. Why make the simple rattle that complex? What I played with, as well as kids till recently, was a metal shell with a few pebbles inside..... Where are we heading? Surely going no greener.
