Landing at BIA, Devanahalli

On the way back from Bhubhaneswar, took the deccan flight back to Bangalore. The flight landed at the new Bangalore International Airport at Devenahalli, inaugurated 3 days ago. It is a great looking airport, and exactly to international standards. The signages used are standard, the format of departing from the first floor, arriving at the ground, the presence of rest rooms at the arrival points, all make it feel of an international airport. It is still very small though, compared to Changi or De Gaulle.

However, it took longer for the flight stair to arrive, and longer for the Baggage to arrive, compared to the HAL airport. Hope this is a teething issue and will be sorted out. Not much longer, maybe a couple of minutes, but it showed.

The easy cab, that was easily available, was a breeze. No autorickshaw or "pre-paid" taxi men pushing you to hire them. Also, at the destination, no arguements. It was a brad new a/c logan. The drive took me 1.5 hrs (at 5 pm) to whitefield, and Rs 750, with jams at every junction on ORR. But then, that is not an issue with the airport....
